We (Tash and I) decided to do an extra bit today because we reached the first possibility quite early, so the next 11k didn’t seem like a big deal. And it mostly wasn’t, but I’m still tired! Vittorio is here, too, but he was on a roll today and was quite fast in front of us. We met an older English gentleman at one point, shared a coffee with him at another, and met up with him again here. There are also 5 Spanish people, so more of a crowd than other days.
We set off again before sunrise and walked at the same pace but not actually together for quite some time. It got light fairly quickly, but we weren’t in direct sunlight for over 2 hours as we were again in a beautiful valley.
Today was a day of hills and windmills, streams and fields of cows, cute villages and nice forest trails. Another beautiful day. The occasional cloud and nice cool breeze. Chilly morning and toasty afternoon. Lunch on the hillside and snacks on the trail. A crazy church clock that struck 18. A random pilgrim rest stop with a shady snack room and wonderful clean WC up the hill. A good day. A long day. Another day!
